Problem Statement
This client required aseptic processing of their parts. In this particular project a fully automated machine inspects a tray of parts and fills them with a highly viscous fluid containing the client's product.
This machine needs to tolerate variations in the parts up to 2mm as well as process both high and low viscous fluids with a high degree of accuracy and repeatability. All fluid paths must be heated and controlled to within three degrees. Parts must be filled completely and free of any voids or bubbles or are otherwise rejected. The machine must have a throughput of at least 1.5 parts per minute and cannot have a failure rate higher than 1%.

Solution & Results
This is the most complex project I have worked on at CKC Engineering. The final machine is capable of processing 4 parts per minute. The machine is designed to be installed in an aseptic isolator to be sterilized with vaporized hydrogen peroxide. Careful attention to material selection and assembly of all components was required due sterile processing of part with this machine. All parts within the isolator were designed to have no-tools-required features as machine operators would be using thick glove ports.
I helped complete the design of the machine as well as directed the fabrication and installation of parts. I also developed the filling process to accommodate multiple fluids and have bubble-free fills.
